Careers in Multimedia

There are many good jobs available in the field of multimedia but for the purpose of this assignment I'll list the top five I found most interesting.

1.) Cartoonist

2.) Professional blogger & podcaster

3.) News reporter

4.) Photographer

5.) Graphic designer

From those options I decided to do my research on News reporter. According to Salary.com I found that news reporters in Spokane WA can make anywhere between $38k-$98k per year with the average median pay being $60,788 per year. News reporters have many responsibilities on the job, they do research and gather information via interviews when covering a story. They also cover anything from local to global news and events. Reporters must have specific training to do their jobs. They must have a high school diploma, at least a Bachelor's degree in journalism, broadcasting, communications or a related media writing discipline. They can get this training at Washington State University, University of Missouri, Colorado State University, or University of Southern California to name a few. This job seemed interesting to me because writing and researching has always been an area were I excel and enjoy to learn about. I felt that I should choose the one that played to my abilities. Overall the idea of news reporting didn't seem too bad and the pay for the job didn't sound bad either.
